Joseph Bloch currently serves as Vice-chair and press liaison for the Arfstoll Thjod, as well as its chief advisor. A veteran of the United States Air Force, he has a B.A. degree in history from Boston University, has authored many articles on Germanic paganism, and has been interviewed by both the Village Voice and the New York Times as an expert on Theodism and Heathen religion in general. He co-founded and has served as president of Nova Roma, the largest Roman historical reenactment organization in the world, as well as on the board of directors of the World Transhumanist Association, which studies the interactions of society with emerging technologies. A life-long fan of science fiction, fantasy, and wargaming (and a former president of the Boston University Simulation Society), he has also authored several articles and other works in the field of gaming, and appeared in the fan-film series Tales of the Seventh Fleet episode "A Touch of Home". A professional in the IT field for more than twenty years, he currently works full-time as a project manager for a large health insurance company, and lives in New Jersey with his wife and daughter.
